Edited to say: I have no problem with armor designing competitions, look at some of the lovely weapons that came out of player designs, but they were not rewarded special super in-game items because of it and neither should armor designs. If people want to look unique, they can dream up some mix and match combo and wear that around Kamadan.

Ultimately I want to see more player designs in game. We've seen mostly weapons, now is the time for armor sets. And what more fun way than a big competition with votings/vetting to involve the community? And what better reward for the winners to be able wear their own creations? But of course I want other players to be able to use it, but I rather it becomes a bit more exclusive than Obsidian armor.. especially since I think Obsidian armor is rather ugly or plain looking ^^

That never stopped people farming for the mini polar bear during wintersday...

Difference here is that mini polar bear was tradeable and thus worth quite a lot on the market, it gave you a whole other incentive to farm it.
